As a dentist with many years of experience, there is no one size fits all solution to replacing missing teeth. When a patient needs missing teeth replaced, there is a variety of factors that will determine what treatment option will best suit the needs of the individual. That is why we, at Las Vegas Smile Center, will offer a range of different options covering everything from implants to dental bridges and implant supported dentures.
One option for replacing missing teeth that can work well in a variety of situations is the use of implant supported dentures. Using dental implants to support dentures solves many of the problems that come with traditional dentures that simply rest on the gums. It improves the stability of the dentures, which makes them more functionally sound for things like chewing, biting, and speaking.
To get implant supported dentures, it usually requires a two-part procedure. In the first part of the procedure, Dr. Arian will place titanium implants into the patient’s jaw. After the implants are installed, the patient will usually need a few months for the implants to fuse with the jaw bone. Once the implants are secure in the patient’s jaw, Dr. Arian will then perform another procedure to expose the implants and prepare them for restoration. The restorative part includes taking impressions after the attachments are installed into the implants and fabricating a denture that will snap into the attachments that will be more stable and retentive not relying on the gum tissue for support.
